Two weeks prior

Choose the date and the location.

Once you know the date and time of the party (which doesn’t have to be on their exact birthday), figure out where you’re going to have it. We recommend a place with enough room for your guests to really rock out.

Send the invitations.

When you have determined the guest list, personalise and send the invitations, to match the rest of the rocker printables (bunting, little boxes, labels, etc.) (download).

Piñata.

If you’re child hasn’t gotten to the phase where they think certain things -like piñatas- are “babyish”, in this tutorial you’ll see how to make one in a bee shape, but you can make it in any shape you want.

One or two days prior

What to serve?

You can’t not have sandwiches, snacks, biscuits, sweets… But if you want to give your snacks an original touch we recommend putting out some flavoured popcorn. It’s delicious!

Cut out and personalise the printables (if you can print them on card, even better).

The design of the printables can serve as inspiration for the rest of the decorations.

    • Invitations.
    • Labels for the party snacks.
    • Little boxes for sweets and other snacks.
    • Labels for the straws and glasses where each guest can write their name.
    • Round stickers to personalise some vinyl records you have around the house to make cool decorations.
    • Bunting: put one letter of their name on each bunting. You can stick them to the rope using double-sided tape or hot glue, or make two holes in the top of each bunting to string the rope through.

DIY decorations

If your child and their friends love to take photos, a great idea is to set up a little photocall. You just have to pick an area and decorate it to match the party theme. We’ve put some fun glasses, microphones, instruments… And anything else you can come up with to make the photos look cool!

The day of the party

Make the food.

There’s nothing complicated about putting together some good snacks: their favourite sandwiches, juices, sweets and different types of candy… It’s not just any day!

Party decorations

To get your little rockers ready for the show you’ll need the right decorations. Gather up some things from around the house that inspire you: anything related to music, skulls, some strings of lights… We put a large floor piano and it was a huge success, for kids and parents alike.

If you have some vinyl records around the house you can personalise them for the occasion with our printable labels (with the name of the birthday boy or girl, their age, or whatever else you can think of). They look great!

When the guests arrive

Since it’s a big event, the first thing guests need to do is the photocall.

If there’s time after the photos, the snack, the songs (or more like screams) and blowing out the candles, it’s a good idea to plan some activities like making their own tattoos or bracelets.
